Well, it has to be done... that first awkward post. After brief forays in school, I returned to RPGs and wargaming in the last couple of years. I prefer the term Adventure Games for what I like to play, which is a mash-up of both hobbies. Sometimes I enjoy theatre of the mind style play, but crafting a miniature world and having adventures with miniatures in it is what really gets me excited about gaming.

Why Rulings & Rules? In the last year or so I have become enamoured with the Free Kriegsspiel Revival/Revolution movement, and how the stripped down nature of the rulesets of this game design movement frees up player creativity and referee spontaneity. Rather than wade through thick tomes creating characters, filling in endless sheets of paper, a game can just get going with a couple of agreed principles. So my quest is to work out the best features of both rulings and rules, and combine them into exciting Adventure Games!
